Clinton's Driftwood Cafe Closes; Reopening Possible, but Not Certain

After years of being a Clinton staple, Ryan's Driftwood Cafe has closed their doors as of July 10 this summer. Their Facebook announcement mentions the possibility of reopening, but nothing definite was stated.

The Driftwood Cafe announced that Wednesday, July 10 was their last day of business. They did so on an announcement through Facebook in a July 11 post, stating:

Hello everyone...Today is a sad day...Tim announced last night that wed July 10 would be the last night for our beloved Driftwood. That's right. When the doors closed last night, that was it. Tim hopes to be able to regroup, and at this point nothing is cast in stone as far as the future. Let's all wish Tim the best, and be there for him if he needs anything...we love you man... I'll keep you all posted as best I can...Thanks, Darkside...
Many local residents from Clinton, Madison and other surrounding towns, as well as folks from out of state, shared their thoughts on the closure by commenting on the post, saying:
So sorry it's a sad day. Let us know if you need anything.
Sorry to hear.. We always did the toy run every year there.. Going to miss it..
Hope things work out and you reopen! Best wishes.
A few of those who commented asked why the business closed, and others hoped for a reopening of the Clinton staple, but the business did not respond via Facebook in regards to those comments.
