Catherine LeVasseur, Neighbor

A Clinton resident who grew up in Killingworth, Catherine is the Program Manager of <i>Safe and Drug-Free Communities </i>at the Governor’s Prevention Partnership.  The former Youth Chair of The Connecticut Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking (CCSUD) became a presenter at the young age of seventeen for youth leadership and underage drinking prevention at the local, state, and national level. She was instrumental in the successful passage of the House Party Law in 2006 which prohibits minors from possessing alcohol on private property. Catherine coordinates compliance check operations with local police, and the CT Liquor Control Division. She provides technical assistance to community coalitions as they work on implementing a strategic prevention framework to reduce underage drinking throughout the entire State of Connecticut. Catherine is also the SADD State Coordinator, and is a volunteer member of the MADD Connecticut’s State Operations Council.
