ART LINARES FOR STATE SENATE

As a life long Westbrook resident, Art Linares has shown zeal and passion for the 33rd district State Senate district and the State of Connecticut. Art grew up in Westbrook, Connecticut, where he attended Westbrook public schools. Art raised $25,000 dollars to complete his high school fitness center, which the staff, faculty and students still proudly use today.

Growing up in Westbrook, Art was instilled with his father’s work ethic, he watched his father roll up his sleeves and start a business from scratch. Inspiring him to start a business out of his basement when he was 19 years old. Today, the headquarters of his business can be found in Middletown, Connecticut where the company specializes in building solar energy to power businesses across New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.

In 2010, Art became inspired by a young public servant by the name of Marco Rubio. Art took a sabbatical from his solar power company to work for United States Senator Rubio in Washington D.C. Art proudly assisted Senator Rubio gaining hands on experience in public service by providing help to the Senator’s constituents, conducting research and various administrative duties vital to the function of a public office. Art’s positive experience working for Senator Rubio inspired him to get involved in publicservice upon returning to Connecticut.

Much of Art’s values stem from his families history. In 1961, a force of exiles trained by the CIA stormed Cuba in an attempt to free the country from a communist dictator, Fidel Castro. After the invasion failed, Art’s grandmother and grandfather decided it was time for them to move from their home and the country they loved in order to assure their children were safe and able to grow up in a free country. This move allowed Art’s father, Art Senior to come to America with every immigrant’s goal: the American dream. The idea of the American dream allowed Art Senior to develop the entrepreneurial spirit and start a business to support his loved ones. These family ideals and morals have left a great impact on Art: calling his parents “his heroes”.

When elected State Senator Art’s main priority will be to help small businesses grow and encourage more entrepreneurs to start businesses throughout Connecticut. The challenges at hand are a concern for all residents; Art intends to bring new perspective to Hartford and make the changes that the people of Connecticut have been looking for. Art Linares intends to merge the gap between the
generations by advocating for a government that does not overspend, does not rely on tax increases for revenue, and will subside the debt that has been plaguing Connecticut. These are the ideals and beliefs you can count on from Art.

Art’s ideals and family history show the passion and drive for Connecticut, ideals that have not been addressed in years. Art Linares intends to change Connecticut for the better, for the economy and for the people. Art knows the challeneges involved and will provide the changes needed in order to make the 33rd district brighter for today and for the generations to come.

“ I am running for State Senate because every
generation should have the opportunity to live a better quality of life than that of the past generation. The main principle behind running for State Senate is simple: No matter where your from or who your parents if you have If you have a good idea and work hard, you can achieve any level of success. That’s why America is the greatest country in the world. As a small business owner I
am concerned for our future generations if we do not change the direction of our state government now.”
