Just another idiot looking for a handout from the state with the help of a scum lawyer.
Jaclyn Farnham July 25, 2014 at 10:10 am
In this day and age you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times in public and even inRead More bathrooms and changing rooms to protect yourself. I understand why this woman is so upset, I do. (I thought the State was immune from lawsuits.) All this does is drive up the cost oif insurance for state and municipal parks, when so many are working to preserve them, this kind of lawsuit deters more towns and states from acquiring and keeping parkland.
Igor July 25, 2014 at 11:19 am
Ca Pen I can see your point, but tears after 3 years? Pushing it a little. Policies/procedures areRead More in place and they being used. You will never stop crime no matter how many procedures you have.

OK, all you men on here making comments, did you LOOK at this old guy's picture? Did you notice theRead More "woman" is only 18 and probably the daughter of the homeowner? It was obvious by the fact that she left the room until he was done that she was scared of him, not that she "changed her mind". If you think for one moment that a teenager would be at all interested in having her back massaged by this ugly old man, then you need help!
Debbie Russell July 25, 2014 at 10:15 am
The risks are real and there are steps you can take to increase your personal safety! Increase yourRead More sense of empowerment and safety, rather than your sense of victimization and fear and take our next women's self defense seminar on August 9th from 12-2:00 @The American Institute of Tae Kwon Do in Monroe
Igor July 25, 2014 at 11:26 am
Well Clare where does this say the girl is a raving beauty? She might be and she might not be. ItRead More was pretty crude thing to say about this guy. How attractive would you be having a mugshot taken? Maybe the girl was lonely, maybe not. If you read my previous post. Don't know one way or another, but I don't think you can just go on her word alone. Do you remember Andrea Mears who beat the hell out of the guy flying a drone and then told the police he attacked her. If it was for the video everyone would have believed her. I said at the time that Andrea didn't do females any favors because from then on the female's story get harder to believe. BTW she said she left the home, there is only her word for that.

Barbara, I didn't see that. Please keep us posted. Thank you

I'm glad someone cared enough to find who killed these woman. They weren't for gotton by theseRead More wonderful officers. God Bless Them.

I cant agree with you more, Lin. People need to learn that they WILL get caught eventually

poor dog... that sux. Sorry to hear of its loss. As for the Officer, Im sure they were using the dogRead More to sniff for drugs or something, whatever the case, the dog was only doing what it was trained for and weather or not the Handling officer "Needed" it there really does not matter.

Interesting. As they're listed above a quick check of the half dozen Towns/Cities with the highestRead More crime rates are also near the bottom of the list of citizens with pistol permits. New London #166. New Britain #152. Waterbury #153. Bridgeport #158. New Haven #168 and Hartford #169 of 169 Towns in CT. Any correlation?
David Parsons July 14, 2014 at 11:22 pm
Small towns have a larger percentage of people with permits but a far lower number of permits.Read More Canaan has the highest 13.5% and there are a whopping 167 permits. Bridgeport, on the other hand, only has 2.8% that amounts to 4,031 permits.
Shirley B. Backus July 15, 2014 at 11:34 pm
I thought I read somewhere that most armed robberies were committed with guns that were stolen fromRead More homes. If you feel you must own a gun, don't advertise it. That alone could be the reason your home gets broken into! Obvious alarms and locks could make thieves wonder what's so valuable that it needs all that security. Again, don't advertise how secure your home is, and what valuables are inside.
IOU July 14, 2014 at 10:33 am
I never trust crime numbers. The police supply the data and it's in the best interest of the policeRead More if the crime rate is very low. It makes residents feel safe. It gives job security to the police if the residents are led to believe the police are doing a good job. There was an incident in my town a few years ago where a man murdered his wife. But the crime stats said there were no murders. I lost interest in our police stats at that point.
John Q. Public July 14, 2014 at 12:21 pm
The more police officers a town has per person, the more 'crime' gets reported!
Ken Anderson July 15, 2014 at 09:22 am
Whoever compiled this shouldn't be taken seriously. They've got five different Hartfords demarcatedRead More (all with the same stats though--?) and yet they forgot at least one whole town. I'm not going to say which one--that's their job, but if I had to remark on the State of Union, I'd just say "very, very swollen." C'mon, if they're going to offer stats like this at least get the flipping map right! Sheesh.

Cars have alerts when you do not have your seat belt clicked. Why not alerts if the seat belt isRead More clicked in the back seat and the door is opened to alert the parent? If the door is closed without the seat belt un-click the horn would blow until un-clicked. Hows that for a new invention car manufacturers?
Igor July 16, 2014 at 11:09 am
How about people just pay attention to what they are doing? It's not not just with children. TheyRead More drive, walk the same way. With their heads up their butts. Why should it fall on the auto makers (thus increasing the cost to the consumer) to do what the parents should be doing?

Hey David, "Dou-Bag", what does Bush and Bin Laden have to do with a personal criminalRead More case? Besides, Bin Laden is dead and nothing has changed. The occupant in the W.H. will be on trial soon as well, don't worry!

Have you ever noticed that when tragedy strikes this country the Republican presidents are always onRead More vacation and the Democratic presidents are always in the White House? Funny. Even with Katrina, the war criminal was in Crawford on his month-long (5th) vacation.

It's unlikely they will put the horses down if their only issue is a lack of groceries. However,Read More they have obviously been starved on and off for at LEAST a few years if it was first reported in 2011. Like most mammals, this kind of malnutrition can destroy the internal organs. Horses a especially subseptable. I hope the court denies any appeal she makes, because what ever her issue is, she obviously either won't or can't properly care for them.
BARBARA July 14, 2014 at 10:52 am
It says nothing about putting them down. Hopefully they will be fed and cared for then put up forRead More adoption. Poor horses at the mercy of an unfit human to take care of them !

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE !!!!!! Why have them if you can't care for them

Back seated or front seated car seat.... my question is: how in the WORLD can these parents goRead More hours, and hours throughtout the day without thinking about their baby??? Don't they think about their child like: what is he/she doing right now, is he sleeping or playing with his friends, is he eating right now? Is he ok????etc...). Don't they call each other (mom/dad) to ask how the daycare drop off went??? My God!!! I think they should have the same punishment.
Ron Drew July 16, 2014 at 03:57 pm
Rita is correct in her response but what I am saying is to be consistent. New Haven should notRead More arrest a parent for accidentally leaving a child in the car and Ridgefield not arrest. Also Igor indicated not to put the burden on the car makers. Yet they now have computer chips to stop the car before it hits something and beeps at the driver if they move across the center line. All these are good things so how about something that helps solve this problem.
johndoe July 17, 2014 at 02:46 pm
OK. so what is the verdict??? why is it taking so F***** long to convict a father who killed hisRead More baby!

Something smells in this story and I'm not referencing the bathroom where it was found. JustRead More speculation of course but could that camera have been planted there by an employee(s) of the state park? An excellent although illegal way to identify vandals...
chuck July 13, 2014 at 06:37 am
Wonder how many of these people were already breaking the law by being here illegally. Remember...CTRead More passes out driver's licenses to people here illegally like popcorn at the movies. What a joke.
Robert Lederhilger July 14, 2014 at 05:36 pm
Great job CT STATE POLICE!
JYD July 14, 2014 at 11:44 pm
For all those patting the state police on the back, keep in mind that numbers were down about 30%Read More compared to 2013. And based on my observations, it wasn't because drivers were suddenly obeying traffic laws. Definitely less of a police presence on the roads this time around.

Igor - It is the rare human being who does not do what you describe. >>> Porter - My pointRead More is that those who complain about profiling point to disproportionate stops/arrests/etc compared to representation in the general population rather than looking at historical data on incidents, etc. Such people will ignore that the white stops are nearly equal to their representation; they will point to the black stops being higher than their population representation and yet ignore that that cohort is more likely than the others to be violators. In traffic stops, particularly on highways, LEOs stop those who violate or act suspiciously, not those who fit a certain profile. As has been pointed out by others, rarely is the race of a driver known until they are pulled over.
John Desota July 17, 2014 at 11:44 pm
Get them monkeys!
Craig Zac July 22, 2014 at 08:02 am
I dunno, are cops here in CT really that bored that they can go out and just pick on minorities?Read More also, what about when a cop is taking radar on the side of the road and some car speeds by, does the cop have time to sit and go, was he black? Hispanic? white? ... I think that if you get pulled over, its for a reason, speeding, failing to stop at a red light or stop sign, or maybe some of these people being pulled over are in the inner cities and the cops know them or who they are and suspect them of something? (I know its wrong to assume someone is guilty of something that you don't have proof of but...) maybe some cops are targeting blacks and Hispanics... what id like to know is, are these people also getting fined or ticketed for anything or are they being let go with a warning?

No trial? What? I bet if a couple of kids came pointing to you and said "There he is, heRead More exposed himself to us" you would want a trial....I agree they are the worst of the worst but come on dude, what the hell are you thinking?
chuck July 2, 2014 at 09:01 pm
Yeah...I know...he's gonna get a trial. I'm just being a little over the top, but my frustrationRead More with the proliferation of these freaks has reached a new level. If caught and then found guilty, he should be castrated and imprisoned like I said. Sick of these molesters hovering around our playgrounds and ball fields.
