Thanks Karen.. It's nice that someone has the right story. Of course there is nothing in thisRead More article about the girl who was verbally harassed that Nick was sticking up for.

Have the editors of the Clinton Patch seen photos of Nick's arms and face and other body parts afterRead More he was attacked by the state trooper's dog? I have, and they are gruesome. Did Nick punch the police dog in the chest or the officer himself? Does a police dog count as an "officer"? Have the Patch editors inquired about the severity of Nick's injuries as a result of breaking up an altercation where a man was assaulting his girlfriend in a parking lot and Nick was doing the right thing by helping the girl? From what I have been told, there are dozens of witnesses who were outraged by the course of actions on the State Trooper's part (i.e. releasing his dog before walking over and assessing the situation)... so I'm sure with that many witnesses on hand, the truth will eventually come to light after the court process runs its course. Anyone who knows Nick knows that he is a really great kid and he would never "assault a State Trooper" nor would he get into some random altercation with "another subject" for no good reason. Stay strong Campanaro family, we all know what good people you are!

Congratulations Clinton PD and Officer Greg Matakaetis!!! I'm sure Ace will be absolutelyRead More invaluable.

We know there were some who were opposed to this addition to our force. A dog is a great policeRead More tool up to and including a life saver. I think time will tell what an asset it is to have this dog. Thanks to all that donated for a whopping total of $25,000. Come see Ace in the Memorial Day Parade.

Clinton J well said. This was a typical knee jerk reaction without thought of this type ofRead More repercussions. Let hire a NON-Union a private sector company to handle this now that our elected left has made this law.

So the state will hire 39 additional workers to deal with the backload. Once they are caught up weRead More will be suppling them with great pay, lavish benefits for life, and a fantastic pension program? That's the state of CT for you...

the truth of public safety is that its not up to the police but rather its citizens which have beenRead More so kindly disarmed by the state government
Phil Sengle May 11, 2013 at 01:18 pm
Just know that our P.D. which is staffed at below minimum acceptable levels is under budget pressureRead More as are most town departments due to the recent budget defeat at referendum. Any support you can give will be appreciated. After all, public safety is the first priority of town government.

Maybe Ya'll should have checked with the voters who live in the state if they wanted to change theRead More guns laws in the state. Now you have tons of tax dollars leaving the state because your elected officials changed the flag to a sickle and a hammer

I drive a F250 pick-up truck and my Daughter is never happy that I ride my Grandkids in the frontRead More seat even though I have done all the research and tell her it is totally OK since I can physically turn off the front air bag. How about a statement from Lt. J. Paul Vance about that so I can put her mind at rest, both legally and from a safety point of view. Thanks
Police cases that make you say "OMG." Photo credit: Patch.

wow so let me get this straight ...."the homeowners retrieved their handgun and shotgun" IRead More thought guns were bad in CT! shouldn't this home owner be in trouble for using a deadly weapon and for stealing the weapon. WOULDNT IT BE NICE IF THE HOME OWNER HAD HIS OWN GUN BUT NOT soviet Conn

Thoughts and prayers to all those affected in this awful tragedy. Am praying and hoping thoseRead More mentioned above are okay. And wishing the best for those injured. Prayers to the families and friends of the deceased.

A friend of Clinton resident Erik Savage, who took part in the marathon today, has reported that heRead More is fine.
