A question. The section of Nod Road from North High to Nod Place was already closed for…Read More approximately 4 months (Nov 2012 - March 2013. I have been traveling that section since it reopened and wonder what constructive work was accomplished during that time frame? It is truly an inconvenience to have this road closed.

What about the fact that ALL of the IAs (Instructional Assistants) in the Clinton Public Schools are…Read More STILL working with out a contract? They haven't had a contract since the first day of this school year. Has that been mentioned at all? Probably not, some of the teachers don't even know that fact! Hmmm... something to think about....

I guess the PTA has no interest in attending the annual town budget meeting. The budget might be…Read More more topical for the meeting Wednesday.
Here are some off topic questions worth asking:
With a $460,000 surplus in 2010-11 and $790,000 in 2011-12 and $600,000 to $868,000 this year, why doesn't the Clinton Public Schools fully fund an SRO for which they have agreed to pay only $17,000? This would at least count toward satisfying the State's minimum budget requirement if accounted for by Clinton Public Schools.
Why are they budgeting $4.8 million for employee health insurance again next year ( the same as this year) when they have an anticipated $490,00 surplus for this expense this year?
The addition of 5 employees should cost the district about $80,000 for health insurance. This line should be cut $400K why isn't it?
Why did they insist on cutting after school programs, uniforms and field trips when the defeated budgets still produced large surpluses?

What standards, teach to the CMT's? We're paying her $131,000 a year to do that?

I used to think that New England was a friendly place, where neighbor helped neighbor. In the past…Read More few years my opinion has changed. for instance, during the blizzard many large pine tree limbs fell in our yard from neighbors trees. Not one of those neighbors helped us cut them up and cleanup the mess. My husband and i are in our 70's and the younger people around here just looked at us doing the work and walked away. When we first moved here back in 1965 neighbors worked together and helped each other out. I will add that my family has been in New England since 1624 and while doing the genealogy of the family I found that people worked together most of the time because it was necessary to survival.
