The Clinton Shellfish Barn And Aquaculture Learning Center Needs Your Support

After seven years, two architects, multiple design changes, five site evaluations, many discussions with state, federal and local authorities and obtaining all required approvals and permits, we are almost ready to start building.

The Clinton Shellfish Barn and Aquaculture Learning Center is asking town residents to support the project. Here is information from the project about what they are seeking:

The design consists of a 1 1/2 story traditional New England Barn structure with a partial second story for additional storage. There will be a lean-to on the side of the barn to accommodate the outdoor learning center with a fenced in area and bench seating. The committee is considering the possibility of having a permanent eco-kiosk that would feature general information about the unique history of Clinton’s Aquaculture.

After seven years, two architects, multiple design changes, five site evaluations, many discussions with state, federal and local authorities and obtaining all required approvals and permits, we are almost ready to start building.

We need your help. In addition to a grant from the State Department of Aquaculture and donations from Unilever, Ricky Wilson, the KBE Corp. and in kind services from Grove gardens of Clinton, we still need to raise an additional $30,000 to fund this privately supported community service and educational project.
