Vista Members Bring Holiday Cheer to The Hearth at Tuxis Pond

Located right across the street from Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center’s Madison Campus, The Hearth at Tuxis Pond is a Senior Living Facility which provides a full range of options designed to accommodate different lifestyles, including independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. Vista students and members occasionally visit The Hearth to spend time with residents; however, their most recent visit was a little different.

This past week, The Hearth at Tuxis Pond held a Holiday Party and Wreath Auction. All proceeds from the auction went directly to The Columbus House, a non-profit organization that has been providing solutions to end homelessness since 1982. Not only did Vista members create a wreath for auction, but they were so impressed by the generosity of The Hearth’s recent event that they decided to bring over poinsettia plants, breads, brownies and a fruit basket, spreading a message of thanks and holiday cheer. During such a busy and sometimes overwhelming time of year, gracious acts help to remind us of the importance of kindness, gratitude, and helping each other out.

Based in Madison and Westbrook, CT, Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center is a 501©3 nonprofit organization.  Vista’s mission is to provide services and resources on an individualized basis to assist adults with disabilities to live independent and successful lives.
