Showers, Thunderstorms Are Here - May Produce Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds

Most of the rest of the week looks like showers on and off.

As the annual Clinton Education Foundation and Lions Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for today, showers and thunderstorms are moving into the area early Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) says.

"Showers and thunderstorms moving in will be capable of producing heavy rain and gusty winds," the NWS says. "Most flooding is expected to be minor but isolated flash flooding will be possible."

For the rest of the week, a cold front will pass through the region, the NWS says, possibly resulting in widespread showers and thunderstorms on and off.

"A few storms may be strong to marginally severe, with strong wind gusts as the main threat," the NWS says. "Heavy rain, with totals between three-quarters and a little over one inch are also expected. Localized areas may see higher amounts in a short period of time that could result in possible urban flooding. Isolated flash flooding will still be possible."
