Morgan T-Shirt Fundraiser

What better way to remember all those great times at Morgan than wearing Morgan School memorabilia? The Senior student officers have recently started selling t-shirts with the Morgan logo proudly placed on them for everyone to see. This is just one of the many fundraisers the Senior class has in order to reduce the cost of their prom tickets. Students have a choice of two shirt designs, both coming in two colors. Morgan Seniors can get a shirt that says “Morgan Seniors” with a husky on the front along with “class of 2011” on the back. For underclassmen, faculty and anyone else, the adorned “Morgan Huskies” logo and the school mascot is on a shirt as well. Both shirts come in either navy blue or blue tie-dye. The prices range from $13- $20. Order forms can be found in the office and should be returned to Mrs. Gallagher by April 7. Make sure to support the Seniors!

Talent Show

In all my years a Morgan, there has not been a talent show until now. Finally, on April 15, everyone will be able to see the unique talents of Morgan students. There are around twenty acts so far, mostly singing and dancing, but we are still looking for some more brave souls with interesting acts. For everyone participating, there will be a dress rehearsal the night before the show at 5pm. On the big night, you should show up before 6pm if you want to run through your act one last time. This event is open to the public, so make sure you bring friends! If you have any specific questions, you can contact Gabby Butcher or Jill Riter; the Juniors putting on this event.

Poem In Your Pocket Day

You may not be aware that every April is National Poetry month, and every year The Morgan School English Department celebrates Poem in Your Pocket Day. On April 14, every student at Morgan should print a copy of their favorite poem, or one that they’ve written and stuff it in their pocket before school. Many English teachers will have their students share these poems during class. Make sure to participate in this day of fun and self expression!

“Annie Get Your Gun” Review

What a weekend it has been for the cast and crew of Annie Get Your Gun. After doing run-throughs of the show every day since last Sunday, the cast and crew deserve to be recognized for their dedication. Thursday’s exciting opening night was the first of many great performances. Caroline Best and Jon Nash committed themselves to their Annie and Frank roles and did their best performance yet! Seniors Shelby Marnett and Kyle Waterbury put on fantastic shows as usual, both singing their hearts out. The lovable couples played by Anna Bencivengo, Patrick McAllister, Cara Cifferelli, and Darious Texira melted the hearts of the audiences. Sam Sarkisian and Zach Bernier’s comic relief character really pushed the show over its level of greatness. The other principle roles are all talented performers and we hope to see them in more musicals in the future. The ensemble members are never given enough credit, but hey, the show couldn’t happen without them! The kids from the elementary and middle schools are definitely showing potential for success as they get older. The show would not have been possible without the Artistic Director: John Lampe, Administrative Director: Elaine Lampe, Choreographer: Diana Harris, and the Lights and Sound Technician: Ray Smith, along with the Tech and Stage Crew. Make sure to see John Lampe’s upcoming summer production, Sweeney Todd.
