The girls' basketball team defeated the North Branford Thunderbirds on Thursday, marking Huskies' coach Joe Grippo's 500th win, the New Haven Register reported.
“Probably the thing I’m most proud of is that I got all of the wins here,” Grippo said in the article. “I wasn’t one of those coaches that went looking for a better team. We went through the tough times and went through the good times."

Grippo, according to the article, also coaches Morgan's girls' volleyball team, and has cinched more than 500 wins in volleyball.
“He does a great job with his kids,” North Branford coach Chris Webster said in the article. “They always play hard. They’re competitors. I like Joe. He’s a good guy and I wish him the best.”
