Clinton Land Conservation Trust Annual Meeting

The Clinton Land Conservation Trust (CLCT) will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at the Henry Carter Hull Library, Route 81 in Clinton. 

They are asking their volunteers, members and the public to "please stop by and say hello and enjoy some wine, crackers, warm apple cider, brownies and who knows what else."

"The CLCT can thank you in person for helping out this past year with their volunteer projects."

The first part of the meeting will include the election of officers for this coming year and a talk by Mike Houde, the CLCT president, giving a rundown of this past year's accomplishments.

After the brief business meeting, John Himmelman, (www.johnhimmelman.com) author and illustrator of many books on insects, will share a multimedia presentation: INSECTS AND THEIR AMAZING STORIES!

John is a native of Killingworth and the author and illustrator of more than sixty books for children.  He has been a writer and illustrator since 1981 and a teacher of children's book writing and illustration; naturalist and lecturer on nature topics and a muralist for the Boston Science Museum.     

He is also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Lepidopterists Society, Connecticut Butterfly Association (co-founder and vice president), Connecticut Botanical Society, Connecticut Entomological Society, Connecticut Ornithological Society, New Haven Bird Club (director and past president), Killingworth Land Trust (director), Killingworth Lions Club.     

He is also a photographer and makes professional recordings of insect songs.  

Refreshments will be served.  The public is invited to attend.
