Just One Week Until The Budget Referendum Vote

Now that the calendar turned to May today, it's only one week until the Clinton budget referendum vote which is Wed., May 8.

The town of Clinton will hold its budget referendum vote on Wed., May 8 from 6am to 8pm at town hall.

All voters, electors and others qualified to vote in a budget referendum are encouraged to come out and vote. Electors are people who own property in town but who are not residents. You need to own property assessed at $1,000 or more as stated on the town's Grand List to vote.

The vote is held in the green room, downstairs at Clinton Town Hall.  Please remember to bring your photo I.D.

There will be two questions on the referendum - each asking for a "yes" or "no" vote.  One question is for the town budget; the other is for the school budget.

If you will be out of town all day on May 8, absentee ballots are available now at town hall.  Since the vote is in one week, the town clerk's office advises those who need one to come in person to their office. The offices are open Mon-Tue-Wed from 9am to 4pm; Thursday from 9am to 7pm; and Friday from 9am to noon.  At the town clerk's office, you can fill out an application for an absentee ballot and vote then, as well.

The full budget, line by line, is available on the town's website.

Here is a copy of the complete legal notice for the upcoming referendum vote:
