Sunday Afternoon Update by the Road Crew

The center of Clinton will be closed tonight to traffic to facilitate plowing.

An Update on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2:30pm by Peter Neff, Director of Public Works:

We now estimate that 95% of Town roads have at least one lane open. We continue to provide emergency response to support CL&P in their efforts to restore the entire Town as well as to our elderly citizens.  Once again the ability of Town Agencies to work together has made our task much easier. We will continue working on getting Town agencies ready to be opened in the morning.

Crews are now clearing the Town Beach in order to make room for the snow being removed from the Town Center tonight.

As a reminder the center of Town will be closed to traffic this evening as we clean the area and get it ready for the businesses to open Monday morning.

Starting tomorrow, we will begin the process of widening our main roads to allow for ease of traffic and school transportation.  We will also begin to clear intersections, the end of dead end roads and cul-de-sacs as we progress through the week. We will gradually begin to widen the roads out and complete the opening up of parking lots in town.
