“I’m delighted that so many non-profit groups, state and local agencies, and civic organizations with helpful products and services for seniors registered with my office to exhibit at this year’s Senior Fair,” Senator Daily said. “There is simply no substitute for face-to-face contact with those who can benefit; vendors routinely describe the pleasure they take interacting on a personal level with senior citizens at this event.”

Senator Daily said some planned highlights for this year’s event include flu shots and healthcare screenings for seniors, money-saving energy tips from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and Northeast Utilities, and financial counseling from the Connecticut Housing and Finance Authority.

“These fairs are repeatedly held around the state and serve the best interests of senior citizens – they prove time and again to be most effective outreach tools and serve as an information clearinghouse about state and local services, programs, and activities for those who are intended recipients who can best use the information,” Senator Daily said. “There is always such an enthusiastic response to these events – I look forward to greeting many longstanding friends when we get together next week.”

“State residents have to adjust to so many changes as they get older – these fairs make available to them a laundry list of ways and means at their disposal with which they can complete this transition and minimize the disruption of those changes,” Senator Daily added.
