Sen. Art Linares Asks for Your Help to End the Early Prison Release Program

You can email your testimony or testify in-person before the Judiciary Committee.

 

"Did you know that Connecticut’s Risk Reduction Credit Law allows violent felons -- including those convicted of rape, manslaughter, kidnapping, or sexual molestation of a child under 13 -- to earn as many as five days off their prison sentences each month?" ask State Senator Art Linares to his constituents. 

"The good news is that a bill before the state legislature this Friday would end this dangerous program," he states.

Linares, a Republican, is the newly-elected state senator for the 33rd senatorial district of Connecticut which includes Clinton.

Senate Bill 123: An Act Repealing The Risk Reduction Credit Program will be before the state legislature today, Friday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m.

According to Sen. Art Linares (R-33rd District), "I am in favor of this bill and I hope you are too."

You can testify in-person before the Judiciary Committee this Friday or email your testimony to Judiciary Committee staffer George Marinelli at george.marinelli@cga.ct.gov.

Be sure to put the word “Testimony” in the email’s subject line and mention that you are in favor of Senate Bill 123.  You can copy Sen. Linares on your email at art.linares@cga.ct.gov.

This will take place in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on Friday, March 22 at 11:30 A.M. in Room 2B. Sign-up for the hearing will begin at 9:30 A.M. and conclude at 11:00 A.M. in Room 2500. For those who cannot attend the hearing in person, you can email your testimony to Judiciary Committee staffer George Marinelli at george.marinelli@cga.ct.gov .  Be sure to put the word “Testimony” in the email’s subject line.
