RTC & DTC To Hold Special Meetings This Week

The Expected Outcome Is A Slate Of Party-Endorsed Candidates For The November Municipal Elections

Did you know that Election Day is only 113 days away? That's one of the reasons the town's two political parties, the Democratic Town Committee (DTC) and the Republican Town Committee (RTC) are holding their special meetings this week to choose their candidates for the upcoming election.

Town elections for positions such as the First Selectman, Board of Selectmen and boards of Education and Finance, to name a few, will be held this November 8.

The DTC will hold their meeting Wednesday, July 20 at 7pm at Andrews Memorial Town Hall. According to DTC chair Lawrence Ouellette, they will vote on and choose their party-endorsed candidates.

The following day, the RTC will hold their meeting Thursday, July 21, 7:30pm, also at Andrews Memorial Town Hall. According to chair Vincent Cimino, it is the RTC's "Election of Party-Endorsed Candidates" meeting.

Active committee members are encouraged to attend their respective party's meeting.
