Public Hearing On Revised Town Budget Is Tonight

Begins at 7pm at Andrews Memorial Town Hall

 

The $15 million proposed town budget for fiscal 2012-2013, which failed at a May 9 referendum, has been decreased and revised by the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance.

The total is now $14,898,814, or a difference of $150,000 from the original, proposed figure. The revised amount represents an increase of 4.27 percent over current spending.  The $15 million budget, which failed, represented a 5.32 percent increase over current spending.

The proposed mill rate is 25.18. The current mill rate is 24.92.

The public is invited to voice their comments and concerns regarding this revised town budget. The school budget, at $31.3 million, was approved by voters at the referendum.

Whatever your concern - cuts or increases to any town department, cuts or increases in personnel - now's the time to have your say before the next vote.

The referendum vote on the town budget is Wednesday, May 23 from 6am to 8pm at town hall.
