Household Hazardous Waste April 23 In Town
This Date Is For Clinton Residents Only
On Saturday, April 23 there will be a household hazardous waste special collection at the Clinton Department of Public Works & Transfer Station, 117 Nod Road, from 9am to 1pm..
This is for Clinton residents only. There is no fee to participate. Identification is required.
If you miss this collection date, others will take place at the Essex Transfer Facility, Dump Road, in Essex.

Future dates in Essex include June 4 and 25; July 9 and 30; August 13 and 27; September 17; October 22; and November 5 and 19.

Acceptable Materials:
Household:
Cleaners, mothballs, photo chemicals, full/partially-full aerosols, arts & craft supplies, batteries (button or recyclable), mercury thermometers, and fluorescent light bulbs
Garage:
Hand-held propane torch cylinders, old chemistry kits, transmission fluid, gasoline, kerosene, waxes and polishes, brake fluid, and rust preventatives
Workshop:
Wood preservatives, wood strippers, oil based paints, lead based paints, paint thinners, degreasers, solvents, and sealants
Yard and Garden:
Weed killer, insect spray, rodent poison, muriatic acid, pool chemicals, and cesspool cleaners
UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS:
Latex paints (latex paints can be air dried or dried with sawdust or kitty litter and disposed of in the garbage), explosives, fireworks or ammunition (contact the State Police), BBQ propane tanks, fire extinguishers, radioactive materials, empty aerosol cans (can be disposed of in the garbage), drugs, infectious or biologically active materials, vehicle batteries
Directions to the Essex facility:
From Route 9 South, take exit 4 and go left off the exit ramp, cross over the railroad tracks and the facility is on your left.
From Route 9 North, take Exit 4 and go straight off the exit ramp, cross over the railroad tracks and the facility will be up on the left.
