Fire Marshal & Chief Frank Schrempp Wants To Change Town Charter
The selectmen have asked Schrempp to choose between the position of fire chief and fire marshal, but he refuses
Fire Chief Frank Schrempp wants to update the fire marshall position to a full-time, lifetime appointment, the New Haven Register reported.
According to the article, Schrempp was "appointed to a four-year term as fire marshal in 2008 and was elected fire chief last fall."

The have asked Schrempp to resign from one of these positions. He has refused to do so, and now says that Clinton's town charter is in need of updating to make the fire marshal position a full-time job and lifetime appointment.
According to the report, the selectmen have turned down Schrempp's request to provide him a new car and raise the fire marshal salary from $20,000 to $60,000.
