Clinton Helping Clinton Food Drive Under Way

Schools, Police And Social Services Partner; Kids Fill The Baskets

There’s so much need these days, be it around the globe or around the corner, so if one is looking to give one need not look far.

In Clinton, it’s about neighbor helping neighbor. And that’s why the Clinton Police Department is partnering with Clinton Public Schools and the town’s Social Services Department in a holiday food drive called Clinton Helping Clinton.

“We know that everyone is fed for Thanksgiving, but we want to make sure that (those in need) are fed for Christmas also,” said CPD detective and youth officer Bryan Pellegrini.

Here’s how it works:  Now through Dec. 16, in each school homeroom, teachers and students will select items from the menu below to fill a box for a dinner for a family.  Filled boxes will be brought to Clinton Social Services and staff there will in turn provide a voucher for a turkey or ham and then distribute to a family in need.
