Baby Deer Found on Clinton Road, Rescued by Public Works

Is this just cute, or what?

The Clinton Public Works Department posted adorable photos to their Facebook page Thursday morning of a fawn rescued from the side of James Vincent Drive.

According to the department, the office received a call from town police around 10 a.m. about a dead deer in the roadbed. Public Works dispatched employee Tom Carmody, who responded to the road and found the fawn very much alive.

“It was a baby and it was curled up on the road,” said Donna Aleman, Assistant to the Director of Public Works for Clinton.

“He had a small cut on his head and other than being cold and maybe a little lonely, the little one appeared pretty healthy,” the Public Works Facebook post reported.

Carmody took the buck to Killingworth Animal Hospital to be evaluated.

“Hopefully he is fine and will move on to a wildlife rehabilitator,” Public Works said in their Facebook post.
