Agenda For Upcoming Charter Revision Commission Meeting

They meet again this Wednesday, April 4, at town hall.

 

One request from the public regarding future Charter Revision Commission (CRC) meetings is that the agenda of the meetings be posted in advance. That way, a person could attend the meeting if a special item of interest is to be discussed.

The CRC, comprised of nine volunteer residents, is tasked with reviewing the town's current form of government and suggesting changes, additions and deletions. They will present to the public and the Board of Selectmen. The selectmen have the final say in what changes, if any, are to be put forth for a vote by the public, who then have the ultimate say.

CRC members include Len Cahill, Sally Cotter, Omar Francis, Michael Galwey, Tom Hollinger, Ed Miller, Brad Sullivan, Tom Terribile and Jane Welch.

They will hold several meetings and have held one public hearing on March 7. One or two additional public hearings are being scheduled.

The regular meetings such as this Wednesday's meeting are not for public participation. The public can attend the meeting, but not ask questions.

The public hearings are for the public to ask questions and give their comments to the commission.

       a.  Residents have no sense of what is being considered – how to handle this
