More significant impacts may be felt from the winds which are forecast to be sustained at over 30 MPH with gusts up to 70MPH.

Please take necessary precautions in the event power is lost. Make sure you have flashlights, batteries, a portable radio, water and make sure cell phones are charged.

Please take precautions if using portable generators fumes from these can be deadly and back-feeding of lines could injure crews working to restore power.

A parking ban is in effect beginning Friday morning and at least until Sunday.

Please do not go out tomorrow evening if you do not have to. Our crews will be out and traffic only makes their job more difficult as they try to keep roads passable for emergency vehicles.

Our dispatch center is always open and can be reached for non-emergencies by calling 860-669-0451, if it is an emergency dial 911. I will provide another update Friday morning.

Thank You.
