Report: Police ID Body Found in Clinton as Missing Fisherman

The body recovered in Long Island Sound in Clinton has been identified as the missing fisherman Yuri Kirvpichev, the 51-year-old Massachusettes man who fell into the CT River early last week, according to WTNH.com.

According to WTNH.com, police have confirmed that the body found in the Long Island Sound in Clinton early Friday, July 4, belonged to the 51-year-old missing fisherman Yuri Kirvpichev of Massachusettes.

Kirvpichev was reported to have fallen into the Connecticut River after attempting to retrieve his fishing pole that had fallen into the water around 8:15 PM Sunday, July 2.  Clinton police received a call at 9:30 Thursday morning from a recreational boater in Long Island Sound reporting they had discovered a body floating in the water.

Today, WTNH reported that the Chief State Medical Examiner's Office said "an autopsy and dental records have confirmed the identification."
