Police: Marijuana Crop Discovered At Captains Walk Residence

No arrests were made and the case remains under investigation.

From the Clinton Police Department: 

On 09-06-13 the Clinton Police Department received information from the Ct. Department of Children and Family of indoor marijuana grow at 7 Captains Walk in Clinton. It was reported that a child was residing in the house where marijuana was being grown.

A DCF worker along with Det. Pellegrini responded to the residence and spoke with the home owner /parent of the child. The home owner cooperated with police and allowed a search of the residence. The child was not home at the time. The home owner indicated the basement area was rented out to a 3rd. person. That 3rd. person was not home.

Upon searching the residence indoor marijuana grow room was discovered in the basement. This room included venting, fans, grow lights, and numerous plants. These plants ranged from small seedlings and up to five foot tall. More plants were located outside in the yard. A total of approximately 80 to 100 plants were located. Most of them inside the basement. These plants and all of the equipment were seized and transported to the Clinton Police with the assistance of the Clinton Department of public works. Two trucks were needed.

No arrests were made and the case remains under investigation.
