Missing Man in Nor'easter Story Has Happy Ending

What could have been a tragedy for a Clinton family who reported their elderly relative missing during the height of the Nor'easter Nov. 7, turned out to have a much happier ending than anticipated.

The family of Gustavo Montoya, 68, who lives on Cow Hill Road, reported him missing to the Clinton Police who issued a Silver Alert and missing person report.

Family members indicated to police that Montoya has dementia and should not operate a vehicle. According to the police, it was believed that Montoya may have been driving a green Mazda minivan in the snowstorm.

He had last been seen the day before, Nov. 6, at around 9pm. It was believed Montoya could have traveled to the New Haven area.

Several hours after the Silver Alert was issued, or about 9 p.m on the evening of Nov. 7, the Clinton Police located Montoya at his home. Montoya was able to make it home safely during the storm and was found to be in good health, noted police.
