Liberty Bank in Haddam Robbed Friday Morning

Police are seeking one suspect, a white male, described as 5’3” with a stocky build wearing a blue denim jacket, blue jeans, and a tan baseball hat.

 

A press release from the Connecticut State Police:

On 03/01/13 just before 10:00 a.m.  Connecticut State Police received a bank robbery alarm from the Liberty Bank in Haddam.  

The Resident State Trooper, Troopers from Troop F, and State Police Major Crime Detectives all responded to Liberty Bank, located at 116 Bridge Street in the Tylerville section of Haddam.

The crime scene was secured and a complete search of the surrounding vicinity was undertaken by troopers and State Police K-9 teams   All surrounding police agencies were notified of the robbery.

Detectives determined that a lone white male, described as 5’3” with a stocky build wearing a blue denim jacket, blue jeans, and a tan baseball hat, entered the bank and demanded money. The subject was reported to have short salt/pepper hair and a mustache and had his face covered with a black scarf. The subject demanded money and did not show any type of weapon. The suspect put the money in a black plastic bag that he brought into the bank with him and fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

State Police Detectives processed the crime scene and recovered both physical and forensic evidence.  Witnesses were located and interviewed.  Bank surveillance photos were recovered at the scene.

Troopers are asking anyone who may have been in the area of this robbery and saw anything suspicious, or anyone who may recognize the subject in the surveillance photos to contact State Police at 860 399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.
