Fatal Accident In Old Saybroook Halts Traffic On I-95 South

Traffic is heavily congested as just one lane is open following a four car crash on I-95 Southbound earlier today.

A fatal accident that occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday on the Baldwin Bridge in Old Saybrook stopped traffic on I-95 Southbound between exits 70 and 69. Police say the four-vehicle crash involved a box truck. One person died as a result of the accident.

As of 3 p.m., traffic was still stop and go, with an emphasis on "stop" as just one lane was open. Emergency service personnel are still working to clear the scene. This afternoon's commute is likely to be slow going so avoid the area if you can.
