Clinton Police Consulting Other Departments Following K-9 Bite Incident

Clinton Police Department's K-9, "Ace," bit a child during a tour/demonstration on Saturday, June 1. The child is recovering and doing fine, Police say.

According to Clinton Police Department’s Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn, there was an incident at the Clinton PD Saturday, June 1, where K-9 “Ace” bit a child during a tour/demonstration. The incident took place during the time when the visitors were petting the dog.

“Ace’s handler was holding him by the collar when the bite occurred,” said Chief Todd Lawrie of the Department. “Ace showed no signs of aggression, and it’s possible he may have been startled.”

The child sustained a minor wound to their shoulder, and police have been informed that the child is recovering, is back at school and is doing fine, Dunn and Lawrie also stated.
