Clinton Home Invasion Leads To Arrest, Police Say

On Saturday 11/30/13 just before 8:00 pm, The Clinton Police responded to a private residence on Walnut Hill Road for a report of an active dispute/ assault.

On Saturday 11/30/13 just before 8:00 pm, The Clinton Police responded to a private residence on Walnut Hill Road for a report of an active dispute/ assault.

The investigation revealed that a person by the name of Kevin J. Dorothy (1/28/82) of 81 Pattagansett Rd, East Lyme; forcibly entered the home by breaking a locked exterior door and confronted two people inside the home. One of the persons inside the home was later identified as being Dorothy’s wife. The other party was identified as the home owner.

Dorothy then confronted the pair and altercation ensued. During the course of this altercation Dorothy committed a physical assault against the male party, requiring the male party to be transported to the hospital via ambulance for moderate face and head injuries. The victim was eventually treated and released. 

Dorothy was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Dorothy was charged with:   Home Invasion, Burglary in the second degree, Assault in the second degree, Criminal Mischief in the second degree, and Disorderly Conduct.

Dorothy posted a $10,000.00 surety bond, and is scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on Monday 12/2/13.
