Ace Hardware Owners Donate $6,500 Towards Police K-9 Program

And in appreciation, the future K-9 police dog will be named "Ace."

 

He or she may not yet be born, but their name is already picked out: "Ace."

Ace will be the name of the Clinton Police Department (CPD's) future K-9 police dog, courtesy of the owners of Steward's Ace Hardware in Clinton.

Todd Steward and Cherie Thompson generously donated $6,500 for the purchase of the CPD's future K-9. 

"We will name the K-9 ‘Ace’ to show our appreciation," said Major John Carbone.

The department has already received $5,000 from the Clinton Rotary Club to kick-start the fund-raising efforts for the program.

Many years ago, the CPD had a K-9 program, but it was not reinstated after the last dog retired.

But a new program is on track.
