What to do with fresh cut flowers once you get them home

Special thanks to Tracy Pascarella as your florist for helping with this blog

  • Use the flower food packet provided with your flowers
  • Give each flower a fresh cut as you put it in the vase
  • Change water and cut the ends of flowers every few days
  • Keep out of direct sun light, and away from very warm areas like a wood stove or fireplace.

Some flowers last longer than others, so discard the ones that go bye-bye, give the rest a fresh cut and put in a smaller vase as the week goes on.

Your local florist can tell you which flowers will last longer than others, so let them know what you are looking for.
