Town Salt Shed Burned Down

I would like to know why the taxpayers of Clinton, had no say about burning down the salt shed at the town garage recently. Shouldn't it be up to the taxpayers to decide if we want one of our town buildings destroyed? It seems like the people in charge of running things in our town, just seem to take things into their own hands and decide for us.  we, as taxpayers, should have some say about these things.  I don't know why, the town couldn't have used this building for extra storage. This building wasn't that old, that is wouldn't have lasted us a few more years..
