Lucas: "Tom V. is no George W."

"The bottom line is Vicino wants to go up to Hartford to be a player on Dan Malloy's team - - the team that brought us more taxes, more spending, and more deficits."

That showed great character that served him well in later life.

When I served as First Selectman for several terms in Killingworth, I learned, early on that “telling the truth” is the only right way to gain the trust of those you “swore” to serve.

Today I received Mr. Vicino’s slick mailing.  I was confused with his braggadocios that “As Selectman, Tom Vicino has a proven record of working across party lines to help build a stronger future for our families.”  That is just not what my research shows and I asked many of my friends in Clinton, from both parties and that was not their understanding also.  I then reviewed the Selectmen minutes for the past three years, and cannot find one incident where Selectman Vicino ever voted against his caucus or initiated any legislation or motion, except to adjourn.

These facts speak volumes.  That’s a very bold statement.  I question its truthfulness!

If I can be proven wrong, I will apologize.  Don’t think I am.

The bottom line is Vicino wants to go up to Hartford to be a player on Dan Malloy’s team - - the team that brought us more taxes, more spending, and more deficits.  The only thing that Malloy has brought less of is less money in our pockets.

All these democrats are “bi-partisan” today because they know their Democrat Party is at an all time low in terms of favorability…thanks to their savior Dan Malloy.

Tom, remember…if you cut the tree down, tell the truth!
