Nye: "Let's Make Our School System the Best"

"You aren’t going to find two people who are more supportive of upgrading our flagship school from the money pit that is the current Morgan to a structure that the town can be proud of, even a hundred years from now."

This letter is written by Valerie and Pete Nye:

Since the “High School of the Future” study in Clinton, which began in February 2006, we have had the honor of working with so many dedicated parents and educators, all of whom have demonstrated a sincere desire to provide our district with the resources necessary to make it one of Connecticut’s best school systems.

We can’t possibly express our great pride in the Town of Clinton for having passed the new Morgan School building project and our personal expectations regarding what it will add to our town could not be higher.

Throughout, our highest hope for this new structure was that it would reflect the storied history of this school and our unique shoreline town.

At present we have been openly sharing our opinions regarding various elements of the building; some positive, some negative, all part of what we believe it takes to get this exciting project done right.

Regardless of how any group may use our comments, you aren’t going to find two people who are more supportive of upgrading our flagship school from the money pit that is the current Morgan to a structure that the town can be proud of, even a hundred years from now.

We hope every stakeholder seizes the opportunity to share their thoughts as this historic project moves forward to completion.

Thanks

Valerie and Peter Nye
