A Thanks From The Clinton Family Day Committee

"It was a wonderful feeling to see the community come together to make our 7th Annual Clinton Family Day such a special day for the children and families of Clinton."

This letter is written by Lois Ruggiero, Chairman, Clinton Family Day Committee:

On behalf of the Clinton Family Day Committee 2012, I would like to thank the 35+ volunteers who donated their time on July 21 to make this event a huge success.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank Willie Fritz, First Selectman, the First Selectman’s Task Force, the Park & Recreation Department Staff and Commission, the Board of Selectmen, Members of the Morgan Peer Advocates and the Clinton Youth and Family Service Bureau for their support and generosity.

A special thank you to the following people who worked many hours, over several months, on this project which benefited the children and families of this community: Kimberly Inglis, Nancy Popp, Amy King, Nancy Williams and Andrea Ruggiero.

We had 12 entries (22 children) in our Sand Sculpture Contest this year and I would be remiss if I didn’t thank our judges: Lynn Pinder, Selectman, Bo Potter, Director of the Park and Recreation, and Peter Schultheis, Director of Human Services.  We also had 12, five-man teams participate in our Tug of War Contest, which made for a very exciting event.

The following businesses helped us along the way: ShopRite and Stop & Shop of Clinton, by donating watermelons, bottled water and a gift card.

Everyone who attended this event experienced a day filled with Races, Arts & Crafts, Games, Face Painting, Prizes, a Waterslide and Beach Combing with Dana Skidmore.  It was a wonderful feeling to see the community come together to make our Seventh Annual Clinton Family Day such a special day for the children and families of Clinton.

Thank you,

Lois A. Ruggiero, Chairman

To Lois and Committee Members, Thank you for hosting another wonderful Family Day at the Clinton Town Beach. It was great to see all the children and families enjoying themselves in the activities you had planned throughout the day. The weather was amazing, the beach looked beautiful, the lifeguards were on top of their game, and I enjoyed watching everyone having a great time. Also, thanks for the watermelon and popcorn too!
