Edward Vlosky, 62, Of Chester

Shoreline Commercial Real Estate Developer And Entrepreneur

Edward Francis Vlosky of Chester, Connecticut, formerly of Bath, Ohio died May 17, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Julius, his beloved brother Michael and faithful Golden Retriever, Atticus.  Ed is survived by his wife, Amy Friedman; loving daughters Anne, Alexia and Julie; granddaughter Harper; former wife, Laura; his cousins Irwin, Barry, Sheryle and Esther Schorr; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed was born May, 30, 1948 in Bronx, New York.  The memories of his childhood were shared between his cherished city of New York and summers with his cousins at his family home in the Catskills.

He moved to Cleveland in 1974 where he parlayed what became a lifelong love of food and cooking into multiple restaurant businesses.  Beyond his undergraduate degree from Harper College, Ed earned his law degree from the University of Akron.  He went on to have a successful career as a commercial real estate developer at the national level, serving as Executive Vice President of Cedarwood Development in Akron, Ohio.  Ed recently opened his own real estate development firm, Dauntless Strategies in Essex, Connecticut.

Ed was a generous, kind and gentle man whose sincerity was recognized by everyone he encountered.  He will always be remembered for his endearing and playful sense of humor.  Ed was a kid at heart.

To his three daughters, he was a father who offered unconditional love, infinite support and unparalleled wisdom.  To his wife, he was a loving husband, mentor, source of laughter and comfort.

A memorial celebration of his life will be planned for this summer.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to: American Heart Association.
