September is Library Card Sign Up Month

The month of September and the fall season bring many good things – back to school, cooler dryer weather, football and in the library world it’s “Library Card Sign-up Month”! Viewed as the smartest card in your wallet, your HCH library card gives you access to so much – books, DVDs, music CDs, many cool databases and new this year, downloadable e-books.

The HCH Library signed on with an e-book program called Freading this spring and is thrilled to be able to offer Clinton residents the opportunity to download e-books immediately, no waiting in line for a book to come available. Freading works with most e-readers, iPhones and iPads and is easy to use once you get set up. Want help getting e-books to your e-reader?  Your HCH smartest card also gives you access to some exciting and resourceful databases. Consumer Reports online, JobNow, and the new AtoZ travel database are all available right from our website with your Clinton library card.

Need an audio for you next road trip? Once you have your HCH library card, you also have access to a great many popular audiobook titles to listen to on your iPod, iPhone iPad or MP3 player directly from our website www.hchlibrary.org.
