Borrow e-books at The Henry Carter Hull Library

E-book lending is coming to Clinton!

Interested in downloading books free? The Henry Carter Hull Library will be offering free e-books to its Clinton patrons via a program known as Freading starting May 1st.

Unlike many other library e-reading programs, readers will not have to wait for a book if it is already in use by another reader. Freading allows as many patrons as possible to simultaneously obtain the same book, which makes it a great tool for Book Groups.

Freading offers some excellent titles, over 14,000 at last count. A quick look at some bestsellers includes Mudbound by Hillary Jordan and Water for Elephants, by Sarah Gruen, neither brand new, but both much loved. There are many categories of books available; fiction, romance, self-help, biography, parenting and a separate category of “new arrivals.”

The new Freading program is compatible with any computer, Amazon’s Kindle Fire (no other Kindle models at this time), all Barnes & Noble Nooks, Apple iPad and iPhone, Android tablets and smartphones, Kobo e-reader and Sony Readers.

For readers who want to borrow free e-books, Freading will be an opportunity to do just that. The Henry Carter Hull Library is thrilled to be able to offer e-book lending to our patrons starting May 1, 2012 and will offer free group and personal training to get you started.
