Calling all Clinton adults!
Join the members of the First Selectman's Task Force on February 6th at our first-ever Sofa Social!
We all want the same thing for our children—for them to be happy and to feel loved and supported. It’s not always easy to talk to them about tough topics that could get in the way of that goal. Us adults are busy, kids aren’t always in the mood to talk, and its hard to put ourselves in their shoes because our experiences with first loves, parties and school stress seem like a million years ago.

To offset some of those challenges, the Task Force has created the Sofa Social model - a time for open discussion among adults about issues that impact all of our lives. We will provide some topics - from music lyrics and media literacy to real-life scenarios of dealing with teen drinking and tween relationships - as springboard for discussion. These conversation starters will give you a chance to share stories, challenges and advice with other adults who are in your shoes. Our goal is to make interacting with young people easier and more positive by helping to create a network of adults. This, and future Sofa Socials, are an opportunity for all of us to add a few more tricks to our communication toolboxes!
