What is on your floor??? Often when I am decorating I find that a lot of people look at me funny when I ask them that question! They tell me it's wood, or wall-to-wall - like - can't you tell??? I ask the question to get you to think! Often time whatever is there just "is" and it is not in their decorating plan at all!
An area rug, even on top of wall-to-wall, is a key way to tie an area together. It is a way to define the seating area in the living room - especially helpful if you have more than one! It surrounds the table and chairs in the dining room or eat in area of your kitchen. In addition, it is a great way to tie color together so that it is flows in all levels of your room. If you have wood or tile floors, an area rug will help with sound so that things don't echo.
