Old and New?

Learn some tips on combining a lot of different pieces together! j

Old and new? So many people feel that the two just don't go together!  I hope this picture shows you how wrong you can be!  So often we inherit, fall in love with, or acquire an eclectic mix of pieces. Maybe you saw a piece of art on vacation that you had to have. Maybe your grandmother gave you a piece of furniture that you love as it reminds you of her but it is sooo traditional and you are contemporary.  Whatever the reason, you have a number of disparate pieces and need to figure out how to make them work together!

This picture is a great way to show how you can mix and match!  How did they do it? Color!!!  Look at how they have used the black and white theme.  It really ties together the traditional and the contemporary. I love the chairs - black, contemporary, with the tradtional table!  If you didn't pick up on it, the contemporary art piece is perfect!!!

Look at all your pieces and see how using color can help pull them all together. Let me know how you do! j

I have mixed emotions about how this was handled originally. For those that don't remember, it wasRead More basically a secret deal, avoiding proper process. Anyway let's hope it ends well. Finally some economic development. On a technical note I believe the town still owns the Nod Road property with the developer getting a lease for $1 based on meeting certain conditions. I also believe that it was "sold" to residents with the assertion that the developer would remediate the pollution or abandon the property back to the town. Now we find the taxpayer will pay for remediation.
