How to Decorate on a Budget

Hi!  Had a wonderful vacation and am now back to blogging!  Lets get back into our kitchens again!  Last time we talked about painting.  There are other changes you can make that will really help - especially if you don't like to paint cabinets!

One idea is to update your window treatments - whether you make them yourself - really being able to sew has an advantage! - or purchase ready mades - getting updated fabrics and colors create a lot of change.  While you are at, it don't forget those tired looking placemats, napkins, or tablecloths.  These really do make a difference!  A table runner is another way to add some interest.  If you sew you can purchase enough fabric to make the table linens out of the same fabric as your window treatment. I know we talked about paint before but don't forget about your walls!!  Again, this is truly one of the easiest ways to make an impact.  If you have an eat in area in your kitchen think of painting two of the walls a fun, bright color - something to make you smile when  you get up in the morning!
