On the theme of bedrooms! Let's take a look at a boys room. There are so many interesting things you can do to make this room special for your son! In this picture from BH & G you can see an easy way to decorate AND organize all the stuff your son collects!!! If you are handy you can build shelves like this or you can purchase some unfinished and paint a fun color! If you notice - there is no headboard. They have built a platform for the mattress. Another idea would be a bed on the traditional metal frame with a brightly colored, tailored bedskirt. Make sure it matches the color of your shelving units.
Another thought for shelving is to use the metal shelving you put in garages (make sure it is stable and/or well secured!). You could do a great theme with "garage metal"! You could use metal side tables, desk, can't you just picture it!! It is also inexpensive and indestructible!
