Creating Serenity

Serenity - we all need it! Check out how you can have it! j

How do you create serenity? A place where you can come and just relax?  Here is a room the exemplifies serenity!  The first step to serenity are the colors you choose.  Secondly, you need to look at the design of the room.

This room actually incorporates a couple of themes I have been discussing over the last few weeks.  The color purple is one of the newer colors that you will be seeing a lot of.  It is a soft color which creates a serene feel.  Don't worry - if you don't like purple you can still create this feeling by using almost any color in a soft tone.  You do not want a vivid color to create this look.  The other theme we have been talking about is simplicity.  If you see how we have a lot of interest but no clutter!  Too many things can keep our eye jumping around and takes away from a calm feeling.  The sheers at the window create another soothing backdrop.

This is very doable on a budget!  Just remember you need to plan your overall design first! Have fun! j
