Choosing colors can be one of the most challenging parts of decorating! Many of my clients want color but are so unsure of how to choose the right color. I love the use of color in the picture above from Benjamin Moore. This might not be your color scheme but lets look at how you can create a wonderful color scheme you will love!
First, look at a lot of pictures - Pinterest is great for this! - as this will help you to find what colors you are drawn too. Create a board, keep adding pictures, and you will see a pattern develop. Basing your color choice on this pattern will help you to select your color. Once you have decided, go to your nearest Benjamin Moore store (also check out their wonderful app!) and buy a small sample of the paint color you have selected. Now, I know this step seems like a pain but....make sure you do test paint samples on your walls. I have people test in various areas of the room. Do you like it in the morning, on a grey day, at night? This is an IMPORTANT step. You will save a lot of time and paint (and $!) by making sure you love what you have selected.
