Health & Fitness

Nearly ready for the 4th of July!

You may have noticed the shiny coat of acrylic applied to the Morgan and Pierson statues has dulled as of this past Saturday.  That is because a final coat of protective wax has been applied to each statue, actually having a dulling effect on the finish.  This wax coating can be easily reapplied every year or two to extend the protective finish from environmental factors.  Local Boy Scouts will be trained on how to apply the wax this Fall.  Finishing touches to the granite bases of the statues and tests to determine stabilization of Morgan and Pierson will conclude scheduled work.  Please attend a Summer concert and check out the outstanding craftsmanship of Francis Miller and his team from ConservArt.  Through cost cutting measures and other efficiencies, ConservArt was able to reduce the project budget from nearly $28,000 to $14,000.  Efforts are being made to obtain State grants through a number of programs but your help is needed!  Please visit us at our table during a Summer concert or send your buck or two to "Give the Boys a Bath", care of Liberty Bank, 8 East Main Street, Clinton, CT, 06413.  For only a dollar or two you can be an invested part of our town history for the next half century!  Thank you for your continued support.  The Riccio's
