Exciting news just in time for July 4th! Work begins tomorrow (Wednesday June 5) on the cleaning , and preservation of Clinton's two bronze statues in front of Vece Gazebo and Pierson School! Stop by and observe Mr. Francis Miller and his crew from ConservArt as they work their magic. Your opinions mattered and after an unofficial survey, the decision was made to leave the statues with their patina (green coloring) and to literally just give them a bath and then a coating of wax. Each granite base will also be cleaned to look as good as the Civil War monument on Town Green. Questions, comments or complaints? Contact Tom Riccio here on the Patch! Donations are still needed to cover the cost of work. Donations may be made to "Give the Boys a Bath" care of Liberty Bank, 8 Main St., Clinton, CT, 06413.
