THE GEORGE FLYNN CLASSICAL CONCERTS PRESENTS: HARMONIA V Woodwind Quintet
For
the third program of its 16th season, The George Flynn Classical
Concerts series is proud to present Harmonia V, an innovative woodwind quintet
from Connecticut. This group of accomplished musicians is dedicated to
performing the best standard literature, seldom-heard treasures, and the
freshest contemporary music available today.
Collectively,
Harmonia V boasts a musical resume including some of the most prestigious music
schools in the nation, including The Curtis Institute, Eastman School of Music,
Yale University and the Hartt School of Music. In addition, members have
performed or currently perform with most of the musical ensembles in CT
including the New Haven and Hartford Symphonies, Orchestra New England as well
as the Vermont Symphony and the Bermuda Symphony. As music educators, they hold
positions at universities and schools in Connecticut, including the University
of Connecticut- Storrs, Connecticut College, Wesleyan University and The Hartt
School of Music. They have also become well known for their entertaining and
informative outreach programs at area public schools.
The
Sunday, March 2nd concert will be held at the Andrews Memorial Town Hall in
Clinton, well known for its excellent acoustics. Tickets
